"Perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?” -Esther 4:14

We love when we see a brand with a positive image and lifestyle. This weeks #PostiveHustler is not only a model, singer, and actor BUT she owns her own business. She established all of this well before GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL. Yes we said it! This week's Positive Hustler is the lovely and kind hearted Nikka Duarte!

While Sacrificing high school to pursue her acting dreams she found her self getting auditions back to back for a little over 6 months. Then out of no where she went through a dry season. She was lonely and just not herself. Her mom noticed these changes and knew what to dose her with: a creative outlet. THAT IS HOW MY CLOSET ETC started.

REMEMBER: "The Darkest Hour is Just Before Dawn"

Inspired by her Bohemian, Free People type style she decided to use her knowledge of style and branding to create a beautiful business. My Closet Etc is built off of not only Nikka's style but her belief in being frugal. All of her items are beyond affordable!

How do you stay positive?

"Having Quiet time with myself and God. Centering myself at the beginning of each morning and praying throughout the day. Also by reassuring myself that everything will work out."

She is a world traveler! Born in Columbia, she has been modeling since she was 3. She's moved around to Australia, Cambodia, Cuba, New Zealand, South Africa, and visited other places where the culture is very different from hers. Traveling the world serves as some inspiration because of the different types of culture she was exposed to!

Social Media and My Closet Etc

SOCIAL MEDIA SCHEDULES are very important to her! She believes in scheduling what time she will post and how many times she will post at the beginning of the day for about an hour to see how she wants the posts to go. She will interact with customers and other people who have questions at anytime! She sees everyone she follows or is followed by as a friend! She spends about 3 hours per day at the least preparing for social media! By this she schedules shoots for the items she plans to put up on the site, and looking for new pieces.

Tips on Building a Following:

KNOW YOUR MARKET, TARGET AUDIENCE

Use soical media to your advantage.

Finding Thrift Gold:

Thrifting is an art to Nikka. She doesn't see it as cheap thrifted clothes but as vintage gold. First check the sales and figure out what color are on sale. Don't be afraid to experiment the clothes and pirnts, even if it's soemhting that's not your favorite BUY IT. Even if you're on the fence baout whether or not you want it GET IT. You may regret it later. Skim as many pieces and find your favorite brands or colors, but most importantly...

BE PATIENT.

Role Model:

Her Mother! A Positive Faith Filled Woman and also, her best friend and biggest support system. She is a true inspiration and she owns her own business! Happily Imperfect CHECK IT OUT :)
