These are some of the simple tips that Skylar Kearney shared with us on curating a brand at a young age. She learned most of her branding from reading books and really seeing what her dream was. When you have a dream you have to just simply take the steps towards achieving it. Enjoy!

1. KEEP IT SIMPLE.

Building a brand goes hand in hand with the audience you’re building it for. Therefore, you want to choose something that is easily remembered.

2. KEEP IT UNIQUE.

This can also relate to what I mentioned about something remembered. You can be simple without being boring. Your brand should describe the business in a way that keeps people interested.

3. KEEP IT RELEVANT.

I’ve seen too many brands that stray from the purpose of their business, all because they chose a brand name that had nothing to do with it. Don’t confuse your consumer by reaching too far.

“Building your name falls under your brand. Once you choose to brand yourself, being consistent with the image you are trying to portray to achieve that is key. Personally, while building my name, I’ve avoided giving too much personal information via social media. This tends to give a negative connotation that can also reflect my business. I keep it positive and healthy!”
